Prostitis (Prostatitis)

Prostitis is a mans condition :

Inflammation of the male Prostate Gland is called Prostitis.

Prostate Cancer is the second fastest growing cancer type in the Western World - therefore, men must start looking after their health and examining themselves in order to (A) Prevent the condition from starting and to (B) Catch it in the early stages if it does occur.

There are 2 main types of Prostitis i.e.

1 – In young males it is usually caused by a bacterial infection from another area of the body which has attacked the Prostate Gland, such as IBS & Candida.

2 – In older men, acute Prostitis is the enlargement of the prostate gland over a period of years.

Benign prostatic hypertrophy / hyperplasia (BHP) is non-malignant (non-cancerous) enlargement of the prostate gland leading to obstruction of the urethra and interference with the free flow of urine.

Many Naturopaths associate an increased risk of developing Prostitis with mumps in early life.

Some symptoms of acute Prostitis are…

        • Pains between the scrotum & rectum.
        • Frequent urination.
        • The sensation of burning during urination.
        • Blood or pus in the urine.
        • Sometimes accompanied by fever and/or IBS symptoms.
        • The desire to urinate more at night.

Some symptoms of long term Prostitis are…

        • Frequent urination with an accompanied burning sensation.
        • Blood or pus in the urine.
        • Lower back pains.
        • Premature ejaculation or loss of potency.
        • The desire to urinate more at night.

Difficulty in urination increases as Prostitis becomes more advanced and a catheter is sometimes required to empty the bladder.

Problems linked with the prostate gland could be caused by a lack of soya in Western diet. Soya has a prostate-protective effect. It is also beneficial to eat oily fish and foods rich in the mineral zinc.

Pesticides are detrimental to testosterone, therefore additives, pesticides and hormone-contaminated foods are to be avoided.

Methods to determine the degree of prostate inflammation and cell changes are done via an anal examination, gland biopsy & a blood PSA Test.

Thereafter, type of treatment varies according to progression of the condition.
Allopathic medicine methods range from hormone injections to removal of the diseased gland via surgery.
